Notification Brief:
- For the academic year 2024, Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE), will administer a common entrance exam known in full as the Andhra Pradesh Postgraduate Engineering Common Entrance Test, or simply as APPGECET-2024.
- For admission to M.Tech./M.Pharm./Pharm.D(PB) programs in University Engineering / Pharmacy colleges and their affiliated colleges approved by All India Council for Technical Education for the academic year 2024–2025, in compliance with G.O.Ms.No:54 Education (EC-2) Department dated: 21.06.2007 and its amendments.
QUALIFICATION TO COMPLETE THE TEST:
- Candidates who meet the following criteria will be allowed to take the APPGECET:
- Their nationality should be Indian.
- The State of Andhra Pradesh ought to be their home. According to the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order, 1974 as amended, candidates must meet the local and non-local status requirements.
- In order to be admitted to the relevant M.Tech., M.Pharmacy, or Ph.D(PB) courses, they must have earned a relevant Bachelor’s qualifying degree or its equivalent in the relevant field with at least 50% marks (45% for candidates from the reserved category) from an AICTE/UGC approved institution recognized by the Government of Andhra Pradesh as equivalent thereto.
- The courses correspond to the Degrees as given in the following Annexure.
ADMISSION Eligibility for M.Tech., M.Pharm., and Ph.D. (PB) programs:
- Applicants must have taken and passed the required test in the APPGECET-2024 in order to be considered for admission to the desired course. A list of the courses that universities provide, together with the pertinent
- The requirements and test paper for the APPGECET-2024 are listed in the Annexure. Before submitting an application for a test paper, candidates are urged to review the table. A candidate’s mere presence at the entrance exam does not guarantee that they will be given consideration for admission to any course, unless they meet the eligibility requirements and other requirements outlined in the admissions guidelines.
- In each course, admission to 85% of the seats will be reserved for local candidates, with the remaining 15% of as stipulated in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulations and Admissions) Order, 1974 as revised later, will be unreserved seats.
- Candidates with GATE or GPAT qualifications will be given priority when college slots are filled. In the appropriate branch according to their test results, and the remaining seats will be filled by applicants who qualified in the APPGECET-2024 according to their merit rankings.
ANALYZATION OF CANDIDATES, LOCAL AND NON-LOCAL:
- The Local Applicant denotes:
- In reference to a Local Area, an applicant for admission will be considered a local candidate:
- If, during a period of at least four consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which he or she appeared, or as the case may be, first appeared in the relevant qualifying examination, the student has studied in educational institutions or institutions in the local area.
- In cases where the individual has not attended any educational institution for all or a portion of the four consecutive academic years concluding with the academic year in which they appeared or, as the case may be, first appeared for the applicable qualifying examination
- lived in that area for a minimum of four years before to the start of the relevant qualifying exam, where he or she took the test or, if applicable, made their initial appearance.
- In order to be declared local to an area, an applicant for admission to the course who is not considered a local candidate under subsection (A) with respect to any local area must meet the following requirements:
- If he has spent at least seven years studying in state-run educational institutions
- considered a local candidate in respect to: (i) Such local area where he/she has studied for the maximum period out of said period of seven years; (ii) consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which he/she appeared or, as the case may be, first appeared for the relevant qualifying examination.
- If the student has studied for the same amount of time in two or more local areas, or if the student has studied for the same amount of time in any one of the seven consecutive academic years that conclude with the academic year in which he or she appeared, or as the case may be, for the first time for the applicable qualifying examination;
- If the candidate has lived in the state for the whole seven-year period but has not attended any local educational institution, they will be considered a local candidate with regard to, Within FIVE years of June 2, 2014, a candidate who migrates from the State of Telangana to any portion of the State of Andhra Pradesh will be considered a local candidate in the state and will receive equal treatment in that location.
